Korea, oh Korea

I am writing this conflicted. I am an experienced Daygamer and I already do well in the West. Despite this, I went for a 4 month trip in Korea.

Despite being one of the most hedonistic experiences of my life (nightgame, apps and social circle all working well), with examples a plenty: I had a date on a bus and straight to home, I was hooking up with my landlord, I was dating a girl and her best friend at the same time.

But... emptiness. It was such an isolating experience. The girls, even the ones that we were dating, were so bland, one dimensional, bad at conversation and plainly mostly boring (aside of sex), that it destroyed the sweetness of success. Same is true for the culture in general, aside of the honeymoon phase, their whole society seemed to reject anything foreign. With the most mind breaking part being people that just refuse to speak english to you and throw Korean at your face, making zero effort on sign language or broken english.

In short it was pleasure and hedonism with zero happiness.

Therefore, I ask of you, is this normal experience of expats? Did I do something really wrong? Was it just Korea?
