Small publishing business in Boston, updating our site takes way too long and we need a better setup

Serious Replies Only

hey folks, hoping someone here has dealt with this kind of thing and can share some advice

I run a small online magazine in Boston, we cover local food, culture, and events, and right now getting new content onto the site is honestly more work than it should be, every time we publish something our editor has to go through our developer, even for small text changes or swapping out a photo, it slows everything down and gets expensive fast

I've been looking into content management systems so our team can handle updates, new articles, and basic site changes without touching code or waiting on anyone, I just want something that fits a small editorial team and doesn't require a week of training to figure out

if anyone has set something like this up for a small media or publishing business I'd love to hear what worked for you, we're open to working remotely but Boston or anywhere in Massachusetts is our preference, would be thankful for any advice:)
