Is electronics and communication is a good course?

My cousin recently finished 12th and was looking for doing graduation. He has no intrest in anything so he cannot decide what to do, i say do it or cs engineering as he has health problems and it would be comfortable for him. But instead when he went for admission suddenly he choose electronics and communication. I don't know about that particular field is there any chance of getting a job, is it easy to study or not, how easy is this field related job.
