Hey Bitwigger,

You know that feeling when you build a MIDI pattern step by step and it just sounds stiff? Every note same velocity, same length, like a computer played it instead of a human. You could go in and fix velocity, pressure and movement on every single note by hand, but honestly, who has the time.

So I built EXPRESSIVO, a controller script that does it for you.

Select a clip, hit Read, pick a profile, hit Apply. Done. It walks through every note and adds expression: velocity curves, accents, release, per note pressure and timbre for MPE, pan movement, velocity spread for round robin drums, and ghost note probabilities. It does not invent new notes and does not touch your pitches. It just turns what you already have into a performance. One click brings the original back.

A few things I am kind of happy with:

* 8 performance profiles plus Custom mode (Pianist, Acid Sequencer, Drummer, Pad Player, Performer, Robot Made Real and more)
* Fully reproducible via seed, so A/B comparisons actually work and you can recall a variation you liked
* Idempotent Apply, no stacking up, plus Reset to Original and Reset to Flat
* Runs non blocking in chunks, so it does not freeze on big patterns

Needs Bitwig 5.x or newer, Controller API v17. Runs on Mac, Windows and Linux.

It is a free download on my Patreon, manual included in DE and EN: [https://www.patreon.com/posts/expressivo-note-159942061](https://www.patreon.com/posts/expressivo-note-159942061)

Would love to hear what you throw at it. If something breaks or you have ideas for more profiles, just shout in the comments.

Cheers, Frank

I built a Note Expression generator for Bitwig and you can grab it for free
