favorite or new perfumes lately?

just picked up two interesting scents from byermia... pushpak and tiger rouge. the first is creamy, mildly floral in a tropical way, peachy at the start from osmanthus, almost a little salty, and fades to a nice vanilla tonka slight oud sort of cuddle-attractor thing. i don't usually like perfumes this sweet but i quite like this one. people say longevity is good but it seems to fade quickly on me so i think i get noseblind to it quickly, even just on my wrists.

the second is a funky sort of paprika and citrus with cinnamon and cloves, very spiced, and over time you get bay leaf and oud and cypriol and a hint of cherry and after a while a little rose comes through as well. it stays surprisingly light for what it is, which is interesting. it doesn't telegraph sexy at all and yet it feels somehow a bit sultry, but maybe that's placebo from the red velvet bottle. perfume is so vulnerable to placebo, it's sort of funny...

sampled two more of theirs in store... one was nice, a bit similar to the first, but had a powdery edge that drove it in an old woman direction that i didn't want. it did have a similar sort of civet note as guerlain's jicky, which i adore, but the powdery feel was a bit much. i'll probably still get a sample eventually and see if i can acclimatize myself to that note and maybe unlock a new genre of scents to enjoy. the second was an incredibly realistic pond mud and aquatic flowers sort of thing that i deeply admire for its realism but do not want to wear. i enjoy both photorealistic and earthy fragrances (apoteker tepe's after the flood is gorgeous), but this one took pond mud to another level. it reminded me of maintenance day when i used to maintain high end aquscaped aquariums.

also tried perris monte carlo's ylang-ylang nosy be, which i've been looking for a while. extremely pleasant creamy banana tropical ylang and vanilla scent. didn't even need a sample because i know i'd love it. not very complex at all, just exactly what it needs to be. i'd love it as a thoughtless crowdpleasing (and selfpleasing!) daily

anyone have a new interesting scent you're enjoying lately? or an old favorite to evangelize?
