Foot doctor who specializes in athletic injuries?

I am a long distance runner with a chronic achilles tendon injury and I'm hoping to find a good doctor for treatment.

I saw a couple doctors a few years ago. The first one was basically useless. The second one was more helpful, finding a likely issue in an xray, and saying that an MRI and possible surgery would be the next steps. However, since this doctor was part of UCHealth, which bills every specialist as a hospital visit, this single appointment cost $1k+ even with insurance, and I don't want to keep spending that kind of money for diagnostic visits.

So I'm looking for other recommendations for doctors in the area to treat a foot injury, preferably someone who deals with athletes. Anywhere in Denver, Boulder, or that general area would be good.
