This was announced at the same time as one of my favorite childhood movies “Rad” from Umbrella Entertainment. Luckily the same day Vinegar Syndrome announced a future VSU of Rad which is what I’d prefer, so I figured I’d take a chance on a blind buy and pre order what looked like it could be the Australian version of Rad (with a very young Nicole Kidman). Other than both having BMX riders in it (one who is hilariously NOT Kidman) they are NOTHING alike. This thing is 3 years older than Rad, has bank robberies, shotguns, a graveyard chase, on top of some quality BMX action. Overall, a really fun movie and \\\*ALMOST\\\* successful blind buy.

I have nothing to compare the Dolby Vision transfer to, but it looks good. Inconsistent grain at times that can get quite heavy but overall a good looking transfer for its time. They took good advantage of the beautiful Australian settings, and the night scenes fare quite well. 2.0 mix sounds good with a great 80’s score and clear dialogue throughout. The special features are plentiful as well with interviews with actors (not Kidman), producers, and the BMX riders. Overall a fun 80’s BMX movie that I can see myself revisiting whenever I watch Rad.

\\\* At the 46 minute mark the disc got choppy and lost sound for 45 seconds. I did all of the trouble shooting with no success. Time to find out how and if Orbit can replace imports or not.
