Early on career pivot

Currently analyst in IB in NYC. Want to switch to better hours and also go back to my hometown, which is mainly dominated by commercial banking. How easy is it of a career transition. Not connecting, I’ve already done that pretty well, but in terms of skills how easy of a transition is it.
