Cervical Polyp

Hello,

I (24F) recently had an NP tell me I had a 0.5 cm polyp on my cervix. Initially, I thought my IUD got misplaced and thats why I was bleeding when I did an IUD check on myself. I got a referral for a gynecologist and have an appointment on the 20th. Its kinda worrisome since the research I have done on here so far is that mostly older women get these. Also the fact that theres even a low chance of it being cancerous scares the shit out of me. I’ve had two relatives that had ovarian cancer and I recently lost my grandfather last year to lung cancer.
