MFM not concerned with individual readings
I have been diagnosed with GD for about a month now. in addition to reporting my numbers four times a day (fasting plus two hours after each meal), I have a Dexcom to track trends. Currently 30 weeks with didi twins.
This is my first time seeing my actual MFM since diagnosis (mid-level at last appointment). They connected to my Dexcom at this appointment and looked at my numbers. I am in range 97% of the time, 1% high and 2% low over the past month. My MFM acted like I didn’t need to track individual numbers since they have access to my Dexcom through Clarity Clinic. I asked if he was satisfied with my glucose behavior so far and he basically said as long as babies were growing like they should and not experiencing any side effects of the GD, he was happy.
I may have misunderstood or not fully grasped what he was saying, but I wanted to see if this was normal? He is a very good MFM and is extremely knowledgeable and intelligent. I figure maybe since my numbers are good and I am managing well with diet along, there wasn’t much to discuss. I was just surprised how lax he seemed since everything I read is super stringent.
