Freshly single - best places to go

Newly subtly 29F who recently moved to NYC. My bf and I dated for 4 years but ultimately he wanted to continue his military career and I couldn’t commit to following him around. Obviously I’m still healing (there’s a lot of nuance and caveats I’m not getting into here) but where are some of the best places/what should I get involved in as a new transplant AND new single? I like volunteering, drinking, meeting new people and trying new things - ultimately trying to do the most good for myself and the community around me
