Synth-seed question/idea

So, I recently got the synthetic seed kit from plant cell technology, and am looking forward to trying it out! I was wondering, if I were to expose these completed “seeds” to a UV light, would they survive? I’m hoping it would damage the dna enough to occasionally induce mutant/chimera occurrences. I know the point of synthseeds might be to make cloning/proping easier, but hey, I figure it could be a fun experiment lmao. Thanks!
