So this book has been on my mind nonstop, and I made a second reread to fully immerse myself in the storytelling and clues. Honestly I have some questions and ramblings that would love answers or some fun theories to bounce off each other.

SO, some things I've been wondering:

a. Did Aurora meet Blake before TWK? >!The reason I ask because the implied "familiarity" upon first sight, not with just Blake but also with Arran and Jack. She states they look familiar? Now she could have seen them before in passing as a guard, but I don't think so. I think there is something to this, and a connection as to why she was whipped and the imprisonment of Blake. !<

!Remember he is the King's favorite pup according to Alex.... Why? (I don't think its simply because he is a half-wolf, but he was caught doing something in particular for the King to focus on him as his favorite experiment...) !<

!Quote from Alex to Blake: "If it isn't the king's favorite pup. I missed you, Blake. I missed the sound of your screams. I dream of them, sometimes. Do you dream of me?"!<

!Perhaps it is related to the dancing and him learning from someone... Maybe Aurora--unknowingly taught him (maybe he was wearing a helmet possibly? lol). !<

!The fact that he is always letting Aurora ask the questions instead of info dumping on her, letting her figure things out or draw her own conclusions. Encouraging her constantly to just ask him when she is ready. I feel he is essentially giving her a choice. !<

b. Aurora's mom-- >!why did Blake try to race Aurora to her mom? What was he doing? I read a comment on another thread someone mentioning he is also the Shadow Wolf--which could be plausible--but I don't think so given the timeline of his life (knowing Alex and Philip) also he has a timeline of his birth because his sister is alive and he recently killed his father Bruce (one of the other clan's leaders). So I don't think he is the long lived Shadow Wolf--I kind of feel like that could be explored for a spin off book, OR the shadow wold is the Maester or Alex or Fenrir. We still don't know who bit Blake for him to become a half-wolf??!<

!I also reread and the letters and genealogy papers in his room were from a spy initialed "-M". Who was giving him these old letters, and who had them first? The only "M" (pg 342) I can think of is the Maester who experimented on them. Maybe he took them.!<

c. Did Sebastian know that Aurora was the HotM? >!He wanted her so much in the first book, and somehow even Alex knew about her too (the letters knew Sebastion was looking for the HotM)... I feel the royalty and its nobles know more information about this that hasn't been explored in the books. !<

d. Why are all the female mates not choosing their mate? >!Why not the guy for a mix up lol? I guess the third book would obvs clear this up--but it seems like the moon goddess kind of likes dichotomy. I believe it was either the serpent and even kai that kinda pointed this out--the serpent said that pg. 452 "she thought it would save you. he is coming" (I'm assuming it meant the bond was supposed to protect her but its inevitable...) !<

!Kai quote when he was being possessed? Pg. 277 "...I know your scent... The light and the dark. She always liked a good joke..."!<

!I feel like the moon goddess makes these contrasting mates be put together is for a purpose or she is just like any myth where gods like to play and test mortals. !<

e. I have other thoughts but I can't remember them now to type but>! I'm really hoping for Blake to pull through and Aurora to GROW UP because girl was in denial too much for the storyline and plots we need to get to. Callum is a great guy, just not for her, girl needs a challenge for some growth. Callum needs a different person to help his character development because he doesn't have any.!<

!I also see how some would assume Blake is predictable as the dark shadowy figure, but I find him well written for the most part and intriguing, and the "good" guy always wins the girl in most film and books etc... Blake isn't bad, just used and tormented and had to make a choice.!<

ALSOOOOOOO, NO ONE MADE COMPARISONS TO>! Jinu from Kpop Demon Hunters?? (But I have two daughters and that's all I listen to/watch if the tv is on haha!) But like come on!! They are so similar (obvs differences) and I hope for the best for Blake because if it follows similarly to Jinu....I'll be so SAD!!<

!Which is so discouraging because he basically reminded me of him the whole time, !<I did not get any ACOTAR vibes at all. But I also DNF'd that book midway in book 2.

!HE IS JINU, like come one the song "FREE" is basically Blake and Aurora's song. And the fact he gave his spirit to Rumi at the end. Ahhhhh I can't have that happening again with Blake and Aurora (if the triangle heads that way--which I feel it is, but I've been shocked by authors choices before soooo.. I'm scared). !<Anyways, would love to read everyones thoughts and ideas! :D
