Rule #3 has been permanently altered

Hi soakers!

It's time for a change. I've grown increasingly tired of this whole "locations" subject, so I'm making an executive decision. The text of rule number three formerly read:

Including directions in the comment section of a post in order to help others find new hot springs is encouraged. It is the sincere hope of the mod that HotSpringsWest may become a comprehensive resource for soaking enthusiasts worldwide.

Posters aren't required to add locations or names of springs, but actively discouraging people to not help others locate a good soak is highly frowned upon. Violation of this rule will result in two warnings and a subsequent user ban on the third violation.

Rule #3 Now reads as follows:

Posters are not required to disclose the names or locations of springs. Pressuring a poster to reveal a location when they have chosen not to do so will not be tolerated.

Likewise, actively discouraging others from sharing information about springs is unacceptable. Whether to disclose a location is entirely up to the poster.

If a poster chooses to share a location, that is their decision. If they choose not to, please respect that choice.

The undeniable fact of the matter is we live in a different world than when I created this sub 15 years ago. There are plenty of resources available to find a good soak if one puts in the slightest amount of effort. We don't need to feed the beast that is LLM AI. Having said that, if an OP wants to share I'm not going to stand in their way and neither should you. As a matter of fact, there's now a rule that states as much.

On an additional note, I'm ready to take a step back. This sub now boasts over 32,000 subscribers. Being the sole mod of a sub this large is exhausting. No offense, but putting up with y'alls shit has definitely contributed to the amount of silver hair that is starting to crest my temples. I will be accepting applications for a few more mods that would like to carry the spirit of r/HotSpringsWest forward into the future. Only long term members of this sub will be considered. If you mod any other subs, please include that in your application as well as any other relevant credentials. If I don't answer your application, it's probably because I'm ignoring you on purpose.
