Please helpppp

Has anyone weaned the paci from toddler? My son is 18 months and the pediatrician said his teeth are shifting (paci mouth) and that he'll need braces?? (I'm gonna take him to the dentist soon ofc) and so anyways I didn't give him the paci the whole day today and he didn't want to nap today but he was fine today even without the nap, now it's bedtime and he's struggling ugh, anyone went through this or is currently going through this?
