Anyone notice a points devaluation?

I was looking at a number of potential bookings today including hotels I have stay at before and it seemed the regardless of the time of year, every single one was 30 to 80 percent more in points that it was even a few months ago.

I have not seen any media about this, but was shocked at how much the points seemed to have decreased in value. Anyone else noticed this?
