Need advice

Okay , so first off, thank you to whomever decides to read this post in its entirety.

A while back I applied to this job I saw posted by the company on Facebook. I saw it was a "send your resume + cv to" and decided it might be worth it since they'll most likely look at my resume vs an auto reject but, anyways.. I applied via email on April 6th then followed up again on April 16th (longer than I should have, I know). I received an email back same day from this person saying "I must've missed your email, we can set up a time tomorrow to chat". Great!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it in that day and replied letting her know about availability for next week. Right now I'm working a server job ( I got laid off back in 2023 and didn't bounce back the way I had hoped). She also had asked me to send my resume again, which I did, but my resume + cv were already in the email thread. Weird but okay?

By this time it's April 17th, I didn't hear anything from her and reached out AGAIN on April 23rd. I get people are busy, business is busy. But now it's a whole month of nothing? I just assumed they had filled the position or whatever, so I automatically filed this job away as something that I didn't get. Fast forward to May 1st, I get a text from another person from this company (they're co founders) about letting him know when I am available to talk. I replied immediately with my availability, no response, and reached back out on the 5th. Asked me AGAIN when my availability is to talk..

** I also just want to note for everyone, I'm giving multiple days, any time of the day to come in and chat. **

.. no response. Followed up AGAIN on the 26th and was finally able to get something down on their calendar for May 28th.

Got there, and swear I had a good interview. Prepped and everything, was a little nervous but I talked to both co founders together and stayed more than the allotted time. I remember feeling very good after this interview and was super hopeful that something *finally* is sticking after all this time of job searching and feeling like an absolute failure.

However, during the meeting the gentlemen did sort of say "it depends on how bad you wanted it" when talking about my constant follow ups to try and talk to these people. Now I understand that companies want to feel like they're special, cool. But I've been practically talking into the internet ether trying to get in front of you guys. But, WHATEVER, it's an outside sales job and after this huge resume gap, I just need something that will help me be more marketable on the job market after this (not to mention bills, bills, and more bills)..

I honestly didn't think too much of this at the time, but at the end of the interview they just told me to reach out next week. So I did.

I called 8AM the following Monday to see if they wanted to move forward with me. Got ahold of the one of the co founders and he said he was just getting his morning started, said he'd call me back at 11, said ok, he called me back at almost 3PM that same day. Basically said they really liked me but just want to know how bad I wanted this position 😑 I obviously expressed my interest but internally I'm thinking "what the fuck are you talking about sir??!??!?". ATP I'm beyond annoyed because ^^^^^

The call ended on me reaching back out again on Wednesday to set up a ride-along with one of the other reps. He said he'd give me an opportunity to get a feel of the land and talk to someone already in the position about "anything and everything". COOL, I actually think ,ore jobs should do that but that's neither here nor there

But as you guys can probably guess if you reached this far, I reached out early this morning and no response.

I guess, I just don't know.. I feel helpless atp. I'm getting rejected left and right from jobs and have been for a while. And the ones that I do get in front of I'm wasting my time in 3 -4 rounds of interviews or being hired and then told they don't have the capacity rn (that's how I got this brand new MacBook to rant to you guys), or THIS. I have my Bachelors in Public Health and *basically* already done with my Masters in Political Science. I have some work history but with this gap, it doesn't matter. I'm seeing all my friends move forward and I'm stuck, and it doesn't even feel like anything I can do about it rn. My mental health has taken a huge toll and I just don't have anyone to talk to that seems to understand

Do I keep reaching back out? Is there something that worked for you, especially if you have a resume gap? How is ANYONE getting a job right now?!

(sorry if there's things I need to edit, I'm just sending this out into the ether and going to get a bite, I'm starving)
