Full time and school?

Currently a FT ops employee, just need an opinion. I’m really enjoying this job, but I’ll be starting college soon. They told me FT needs open availability no matter what. I just wanna know if it’s possible to request to work certain shifts for specific days (ex: if I have a class from 8am-11am on a Tuesday, I could work a 1-9pm on that Tuesday every week) or if I should just not bother asking and look for a different job? I can’t go down to part time because I need enough hours to pay rent, school, etc. any advice would be helpful
