Unreasonable peeve - People who say they are going "down" to a city that is objectively, geographically UP.

It’s totally unreasonable, but something nags at the back of my brain whenever someone uses cardinal directions incorrectly when talking about travel.

If you live in NYC and tell me you’re "going down to Buffalo this weekend," my brain immediately fractures. You are going North. Up. Into the snowy abyss. Unless you are planning to travel through the center of the Earth and come out the other side, you are going up, Linda.
