Mentally exhausting...

Vent 🤬

Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE being a pre-med, I love the challenge it brings me to push myself to do my best and gives me a purpose to what im doing. I am still genuinely very passionate about medicine and want to make a difference even in the slighest way such as bringing a smile to a patient or changing their life for the better. There's so many reasons why I love this field and want to pursue a career as a physician in it no matter what.

It just gets tiring sometimes though comparing yourself to others, wondering when it'll be your chance. Or watching your childhood friends that are younger than you, getting into MIT, or cracking JEE advanced in the top 5000 and securing their careers.. and I feel like damn, I still have a long long way to go that is really unpredictable too..

It just feels mentally and emotionally draining sometimes. I feel like I set too high standards for myself and the more I reach, the more my standards keep increasing and I never feel enough..

Anyone relate?
