Advice on beater sedan to drive in Michigan winters?

I’ve been looking on marketplace for a $3-4k beater as a second vehicle so I don’t need to drive my pick up as much when I’m not towing and avoid salt. I’m a Toyota fan so looking for corollas or Camrys. The problem is these rusted out heaps that are 20 years old are still demanding $3k + with blown brake lines and rotted out subframes. I get the power trains can last many miles, but these people are semi-delusional.

Anyone have any recommendations for a newer sedan that is not a Toyota? I have a lift and do all the maintenance on our vehicles so repairs are not a big deal. I was looking at some Toyotas with bad transmissions but they still want $1500 and I’ll be lucky if that’s the only issue.
