Modern writers seem to despise feminity.

These are beloved characters, and Moneypenny's defining traits are her feminine wiles and her cheeky sexual tension with Bond. It's a core aspect of what makes her so much fun to watch in the original films.

I always saw Moneypenny as almost the surrogate female viewer due to how normal she comes across as a person. Fairly attractive but not supermodel hot. Her attraction to James also mirrored the female audience, in love with Connery and Moore etc. So, the jokes really hit.

There was a real electricity behind the sexual tension and character dynamics. This isn't just wanting a character to act all droopy eyed, it's a key aspect of the films that made them so much fun to watch.

I really didn't like how the Craig movies couldn't just accept Moneypenny as a normal receptionist. Needed to make her a crippled field agent.

Then, these IOI games take it a step further. She's now got a boyish look and is some sort of computer wizz, to the point where she has a major part to play towards the end. Then, on top of that, the dynamic is completely changed. She seems almost sexually repulsed by Bond.

It's such a 180 for the character, no matter whether you liked it or not. I just don't get why these creators hate femininity. It may not be viewed the same due to modern sensibilities, but femininity is not a bad thing. It can go hand in hand with being an empowered headstrong character.

Can we speak about how they butchered Moneypenny? It's as if the writers despise femininity...
