I need some guidance, should I buy a new camera?

Camera Buying Advice

Context: I got an old T5 (1200D) that my dad bought years and years ago. I have the kit lens and two months ago I got a used Canon 50mm 1.4 USM. I'm really enjoying it, I know this is not the best 50mm but compared to the kit lens it's just miles ahead. The thing I think is kinda demotivating me right now is the autofocus, I miss A LOT of shots, is this normal? They look sharp when I see on the camera display but on the PC they look really soft and out of focus. I won't lie, I can get some pretty nice shots but they are not as sharp as I would like.

What's a reasonable upgrade that would give me a better autofocus? I'm eyeing the R50 but maybe that's too much for me. Any other recommendations in the DSLR arena that are cheaper than the R50? The T7+ isn't much better, is it? Needless to say, I'm not a professional and do not intend to be one. Edit: one of my ideas is too buy the 24mm EF-S, too. But I really think I could have a much better camera body for not a lot of money. Edit 2: I'm in Brazil, so really limited options compared to the US or Europe.
