Want to ask someone out via insta, a good idea?

Longstory short, I (19m) saw a lady a few weeks ago that I previously knew from my early childhood at the pub that she works at, and we had a really good conversation which i enjoyed, and she seemed pretty cool. I go there once a week but havent seen her since then as she is away.

I was hoping to ask in person but i dont know how likely this is in the near future. So would asking by Instagram be a good way to do this - i added her fairly recent?, Would really like for things to go smoothly since i have not entered the dating world before this.
