Ultra Beginner Questions

Hello all!

I’ll start this out by saying the closest I’ve ever played is mini golf and Wii sports. (Yes I know, Im a prodigy in the making /s) I’ve always wanted to get into the sport but till now was too busy with life the universe and everything else. Recently I was blessed with an amazing job opportunity in a city that has a ton of course around and I thought what the heck, I might as well start learning!

Now on to my actual questions, which again are probably uber basic:

1. What is my best source of starting equipment? There are sporting stores and golf stores around me, and market place has some stuff around me. I’m just looking for decent quality for a starting price. (Also question 1.5, what else other than clubs and a bag do I need? I have polos and nice shorts for work but what else do you all suggest?)

2. Lessons. There are some options around me. There’s a GOLFTEC and some stores that offer them. Ranges and courses have coaches to I know, but they seem really busy. Any advice for searching for a good teacher would be amazing, as I don’t what to touch a course until someone competent shows me the basics.

3. Anything else I haven’t considered. Always looking for more advice!
