Gabapentin and trazodone

Hi all! My dog has an appointment tomorrow and this is the first time we’re trying him on anxiety meds/a milk sedative. I know this is a popular combo and it’s what our vet has given us. I’m not sure why, but I just feel nervous that it won’t work or something.

Are they typically successful in keeping a dog calmer? Please share success stories :)
