Grade Appeal

This is totally dumb on my part. But, during my first 2 classes, I had a death in the family, then my child was very ill. I did no work & failed those 2 classes. I didn't realize I was even still enrolled, even completed exit counciling on fafsa. But, I apparently failed an additional two in this time? I just learned this all this 5 minutes ago as I was looking to enroll again, but now it is clearly not an option. I want to file a grade appeal, but I don't even know what to say other than I had a reason for the first two. I'm sorry I'm dumb on the second two?

Do I accept defeat here? Will this ruin my chances at other schools? Can I ever use fafsa again?
