Hokum review - am I stupid ?

I just watched Hokum. I was super hyped about this movie, now that I have finished it, I’m feeling a bit stupid.
Spoilers ahead:
Ok so he killed his mom by accident, while watching that weird rabbit children’s show, is this the only relation to the movie?
He tried to kill himself, and after that he just felt all fine and dandy ?
What does that witch have to do with any of it? It just seemed all so random.
Was this movie about guilt and how far people go not to be caught ?
Did he feel hopeful with some sort of new take on life to change the ending of his trilogy that we know nothing about ??

Very creepy vibe , that’s the only thing that made me enjoy this movie lol
