2368 Mars storm

On Vrishika 9, 403 at 12:34 pm (June 7, 2368 in Terranesian Space) the Planetary Weather Service station in Crux released a dust storm advisory for parts of the Northern Hemisphere of Mars. About four hours later, a dust storm originating in the Radial Environment Dome swept across the landscape at a staggering 30 miles per hour. Due to its strangely fast speed, combined with it being the first dust storm for many colonists unadjusted to the lack of air resistance, it was seen as a shock to anyone the vicinity and the planet as a whole. The death toll for it was 4 people with 159 injured, the largest natural disaster in Martian history to this day. It crossed Olympus Mons, though did not head for the European station in the caldera. It was well known for being the day Twitter had some of the funniest tweets, and the infamous "looks like SOMEONE couldn't handle the storm" post by @/junotweets the day after.

John Van Horn

John Van Horn (born April 13, 2309) is an Astro-Polonian researcher, businessman, and the 6th and concurrent Areonesian president since the election of 2364, winning a very stark mandate of popular vote against the Liberal party. Van Horn also founded LobbyLink services, an implant corporation allowing for faster human communication, described in the New York Times as "the new social media".

Tejanos Creole

Tejanos Creole is an Indo-European language in the Intersolarian sector of the Romance branch. It is mainly descended from Gulfard English along the Texan coast, Mexican Spanish and English, and decades of communication with other Solarnesians across Sol. It is estimated that up to 15,000 know it as a primary language and up to 30,000 in general thanks to Texan companies' involvement in spaceports widely, with their economy mainly focused on that. It is considered by many as a dialect of Mexican Spanish, though some consider it as independent thanks to its grammar rules and lexicon.

Ares Revitalization Project

The Ares Revitalization Project (or ARP for short) were a multi-step plan to terraform Mars as a whole, involving the construction of a magnetic deflector at the L1 Mars-Sol point (concurrent location of the UWC Joint Base Phoenix) as well as melting the ice poles in some way to flood lower elevations with water, with finally planting grass seeds and soil. The plan was cancelled thanks to the lack or realism and high budget, though made it far in the Areonesian Legislative Subcluster. To date, it is a common topic discussed in alternate history circles, including the elusive Filled Continents community.

Republic of Gardenview (Those Who Know)

Gardenview, officially the Republic of Gardenview, is a semi-recognized nation consisting of habitats in Cislunar space. It was founded in 2298 and is the oldest unrecognized non-Terran/Lunar nation. It claimed to have a population of 1,200. According to research by the Fort Worth Concordat, Gardenview had maintained a neutral policy against pirates, and was the result of constrained PTSE of pre-Vanishing Roblox.
