Anyone in Pharma Sales who can tell me if this is typical?

I’m new to the pharma industry, previously I’ve been in healthcare sales. I was burnt out and heard about how good the work life balance is… I’m almost 3 months into my new role in the Rare Disease space… but the work life balance seems like a lot of life and not a lot of work and I’m genuinely curious if this is all of pharma.

I genuinely have days where I work maybe 2 hours and don’t have anything else on, my customer base is ’small’ I guess due to it being rare disease. Is this typical? I do have some good meetings, but some weeks I literally cater a breakfast and nobody is keen to speak to me but my manager thinks I’m doing amazing?

Is this normal for Pharma?? It sounds great in theory but I find myself feeling quite bored most days, I’m wondering if another area of pharma would be better or is it all like this?
