Ghost invisible during hunt??

I was playing with a friend and after using the ouija board, the ghost started hunting. After like 5-10 seconds of us just standing there waiting for the ghost my friend gets killed but we just blame that on the ghost just unfortunately spawning where he stood. So when another hunt starts I ran to the basement so I could loop the ghost around the table but then the ghost took ages to come and then it just randomly killed me?? No footsteps, no blinking?? I didn’t even see it once.
