Is it statistically wise to generally never trust men with any responsibility when I have the option to choose from a set of women?
In my life I have found that men generally do not listen to me, being a woman. They really don’t (there has been exactly one, and I spent most of my life being close to men; almost none of them took me as an authority on anything I said ever.) Also, they are socialized to center themselves so much so that even other people’s needs are only thought of in terms of how they make themselves feel.
I have countless times been let down when I have trusted men with really important responsibilities. I would like to just never trust them again, that means ever be vulnerable with my feelings or trust them with anything valuable, serious, or time sensitive again.
Of course women have done this too, have let me down, and I have dropped the ball myself. But I am saying: literally every single man has done this in serious ways. And there were many more of them in my life. I think this is the fault of how we raise men to not view women as serious and to center themselves. I don’t think this is a fluke.
What do you think I would loose or gain by just never trusting men again as a rule?
