Meaning behind dreams

Do you believe that our dreams are actually telling us something? Like warnings and premonitions?

Backstory to almost 10yrs ago. I had a dream na nalaglag raw lahat ng teeth ko. Paniniwala ng matatanda sa amin dito, it means that someone will die soon. I told my mom about it. Sabi nya dapat di ko kinwento sa kanya and I should have whispered it to a tree or to a plant instead. Para yung halaman na yun ang mamatay. Just weeks after that, my aunt, her sister, died of cancer.

Last night, I had a dream. I was going home daw sa bahay namin sa probinsya where my parents are currently living. There I saw one of my parents lying inside a coffin. My body felt numb. Like I was in the verge of crying until I realized it was all a dream. But it took me a while before I can managed to open my eyes and move my body. Nahirapan na ako makatulog ulit.

Last night's dream reminded me of the dream I had before my aunt died and now I cant get it out of my head. I'm constantly telling myself now that nanaginip na rin ako before na sarili ko naman ang nakita ko lying inside a coffin but nothing happened naman. Pero iba pa rin talaga when its a parent na.
