Anyone had spacers on their rims for a good long time?

I’ve been looking for wheels to swap in so I can put studded snow tires on my original wheels. Looking for used and not whooped. The proper offset wheels are way less common nowadays and also seem to be farther on fb marketplace but there is a ton of the newer axle wheels near me. I’m a little concerned about what the newer model wheels would do to my front end over time. Am I overthinking this? Do the spacers wear out the ball joints, hubs etc. sooner? Everything is in proper working order now after replacing the steering box and front u joints, and I don’t want to guarantee myself a repair a year from now.
