Company is overhauling our workflow

I work in private practice medicine with 2 operating locations. All the admin lives in one, location 1, and I work in location 2. Location 1 has more team members and all over resources, but per our tracking software location 2 is more efficient and treats more patients. We have some issues that admin has been slow to address, such as our air conditioning and bad staffing. When people take vacations, there’s no coverage. Someone on FMLA, no coverage, just divvy up the work. They changed our working hours about a year ago and basically demoted everyone by changing us from salaried to hourly and making us work more hours.

Now, they have announced they are extending hours again. The same admin that won’t address our building problems, our scheduling issues, our staffing shortage, is now in charge of extending our open hours. There’s a lot more to this that’s chafing, but the biggest red flag is that they won’t give us an idea of closing time. As in, when we ask, what time can we expect to clock out, they won’t give us an answer. They wont give a timeline. The same admin that can’t even admit that location 2 does more work and is more efficient, is now in charge of changing our workflow and they want to make us mirror location 1.

I am beyond frustrated with this company. Aside from management never actually managing, and the one employee who is out 50% of their scheduled days, it really hasn’t been an awful job. So much of it I could just muscle through. But now they want us to have this weird constantly alternating schedule to accommodate shift work and I just feel betrayed. This was a great company when I started, and it has lost every perk I came on for. No more Christmas bonus, no more flexible salaried hours, no more getting out early, no more going to a doc appt without using precious PTO, doing more work and always expected to do more. They want us to start this new schedule asap, with not a single plan in place.

I just interviewed at a company with a farther (+20 minutes) commute and it’s set hours, mega corporation, dance with the devil that I know energy. The higher ups I work with on a regular basis keep encouraging me to wait and see what we can get in our “negotiations”, but the committee negotiating on our behalf is composed of people more concerned with the shareholders egos than their team members. Would a cola really be worth working this much harder for?

Feeling especially frustrated because none of my friends understand, my fellow coworkers are also job hunting, and my husband is sick of hearing about it.
