Beginning of ER journey

ER

Hi everyone,
Just need some support and please send some positive vibes my way!
I have been posting here before inquiring about IVF and how that goes. And here I am, just did my first shot of Recovelle and Menopur today.
Long story short: we have been TTC for 3 years now. On cycle 4 of TTC journey we got successful, but WK 11 ultrasound found no heartbeat. My first and only pregnancy I had. In a year of trying again we were referred to fertility clinic. My AMH was 17, follicular count was 25 and tubes are looking great, no scar tissue in uterus. My hubby had 4% normal morphology spermatozoids, which is not ideal, but quantity was exceeding the normal range so was not a concern.
In the next 2 years we did: ovulation tracking, 3 letrozole cycles, acupuncture, home insemination kits and so much more. And you nice I asked the question in here what is the biggest regret in your fertility journey, and the majority of answers were: “not to start earlier”. So I set a sharp deadline with my husband and we decided to give it another 3 months naturally and move straight to IVF.

Last month’s was our first attempt. However, baseline US showed one large cyst and 2 dominant follicles. So I was advised to wait another cycle and did Estradiol priming for this period. Day 3 of my cycle baseline US showed 21 follicles, all under 8mm, good lining. So I was told to stop Estradiol and start my injection of Menopur 75 IU and Recovelle 12 mcg. On day 7 of stimulation we add Ceteotide 0.25 mg. And I have blood work scheduled on day 6 of stims and US for day 8. Doctor hopes to retrieve eggs on day 10 of the stimulation.

And for those who are starting the injections soon I would just give my observation: as my husband was working the time I had to do the injections, I had to do them myself. Both Recovelle and Menopur injections weren’t painful. However, I read that Menopur is burning, so you have to inject really slow - which I did. Was really fine and yes - some burning, but nothing crazy at all. Some discomfort next 15 minutes so I just laid down and relaxed. BTW I didn’t put ice or anything before the injection. My thoughts on that were that I might not always have a chance to do stims at home with ice and comfort, so I better do it without.

I am super excited about us being at this stage of the journey even though I know it is just another step and anything could go wrong along the way and we will have to start over. But I really hope it works and we get great amount of eggs and embryos as we don’t have money for another attempt this year.

I would be happy to hear your stories!
And I will update this post as it goes
