Why does Japanese anime glorify sick and weak people?

CULTURE

I'm talking about that weak and sick person who is treated as a fragile treasure. Like the guy who funds the Demon Slayers. Or the head of the house in Fruitsbasket, which I am currently watching. Also am I crazy or is sickness/weakness also a sign of strength? I would love input or for someone to expand on this and let me know what this is about and how it affects Japanese culture. Is this just a Japanese telenovella/soap opera trope?
