Making sense of my scents
Tried to have a bit of fun with the title!
Brand new cat dad here, adopted a one-year old two days ago, and I'm doing my best to make her comfortable and help her get out of her "hiding 99% of the time" phase as soon as possible. She found her safe spot in my office, so I moved everything she needs in there. It took a full day before she worked up the courage to eat a little bit and use the litter box, so I'm relieved that she's not starving herself. She's not a big fan of me yet, which is normal, I know, but I've been diligently reading up and watching videos to make her transition to her new home easier, but here's one factor I hadn't thought of before just now:
As I was preparing to take a bath, I realized that I might be using soap and other cleaning products that cats don't like. Sure enough, lavender was on that list (which made me feel quite dumb).
So I'm wondering, what kinds of soaps/shampoos/other cleaning products do you use and I should be using? I'd hate for my smells to be the main reason my little Alto is hiding!
