Would like an honest opinion from people who moved back to India

PlanningToReturn

I am not planning on moving to India. Im just curious. My husband and I live in Canada since 3 years. We are both employed not kids yet. We love it here. The greenary, the 100s of beautiful lakes, all the walkable places, garden, parks.. we love India too. Specially since we are from Kerala where there is a lot of greenary but its just the background. You don't get to enjoy it.

My question is, how are you guys adjusting back in India. Don't mind me. We love India to visit every year and by the end of the month we want to come back. The roads, the traffic, the staring, the dust and an overall unsafe feeling. I forgot what it felt like to be concerned about being a woman, until I reached India. And the suddenly everyone's touching you with shoulders and stare at you. Do you feel confident raising kids there?

We love our family but we love our space too. Its romantic and intimate here. I understand for people who are single is a lot of loneliness abroad. We get paid well. We have friends who are losing jobs in India and can't find a job more than 10-15 lakhs, especially in Kerala but maybe Blr and Hyderabad pays in 30 lkhs or more. But we are ambitious wants to be where the action is so being in North America is kind of exciting woth all the tech stuff happening around.

There are so many events to go to, concerts to attend, gyms, parks lakes to spend a day. But in India all we did was go out to eat, or order to eat or watch back to back movies in theatre. How do you guys spend time there?

I saw a lot of the posts in this thread saying India has house help and maids to do tge work. Personally with the right equipment I love cleaning up my home and with dishwashers in every apartment people dont need to wash dishes here. Also laundry dryers are everywhere so dont need to hang stuff either. Not enough dust as much as in India so its easier to clean the house, but yes to organize we need time. But also very satisfying. My husband and I started fixing this around the house, buying new tools to get things running. It's been so much fun doing everything ourselves. We lived in India after wedding for 3 years. We didn't clean, barely cooked always ordered and looking back I feel like we were rotting and wasting our capabilities. Is maids and househelp really making a difference in life?

Did you guys go back agter getting PR or Canadian Citizenship so that you can come back incase things don't work out?

Like I said, we love visiting our homes in India every year for a month and we come back refreshed. When we comes back we cry at the airport but we are good within a day or 2. How does life feel different moving completely back? I totally understand in case of fanily emergencies. I would move back too. But temporarily.
