Anyone know any good spots/parks in the southern Michigan area??

I recently moved here and haven't had the time to scurry around and find anything.

I have to plan my trip around my and my family members days off,, my job is very busy during the summer so it's hard to find time. So it would be superrr gut wrenching to plan a whole day and drag everyone out then not find anything. Although that's just sometimes how it goes. ​

I was looking at some nature preserves/state parks but reviews don't really mention the likelihood of animal remains/interesting insects.

I understand why people wouldn't want to give up their spots,, but asking can't hurt. ​and walking down the highway to find stuff isn't really an option right now
