The definition of love contained within the wish

It’s kind of odd that the film implicitly contains a very specific definition of love. Whereas many people believe that a necessary component of love is caring for an individual with
genuine concern for their wellbeing separate of one’s personal benefitting from the individuals existence, it seems like the movie contains a definition of love with the only real component being undying fixation on the feelings that said individuals presence or existence evokes within the person who is loving. It’s an interpretation of love that almost solely focuses on the actor rather than the receiver of said action or feeling. AND it seems to me that in using the one wish willow the interpretation utilized by the object is a reflection of bear’s definition of love. It exists without any regard for the object of one’s love. This is why nikki doesn’t seem to really care about bears well being but rather fixates and “obsesses” over the feelings that he evokes within herself. Bear loves nikki in the same way. Not with regard for her personal feelings or autonomy but rather the personal benefit and the fulfillment of his obsessions that her existence provides.
