I was treated for breast cancer last year and just prophylactically removed my ovaries and fallopian tubes - AMA
When I was 36 I was diagnosed with stage 2C triple negative breast cancer. I went through 6 months of chemo and a year of immunotherapy. I had a full double mastectomy and just had a 2nd surgery for breast reconstruction. Through the treatment I discovered that I have BRCA 1 mutation so in this last surgery I also had my fallopian tubes and ovaries removed prophylactically. I’m think it’s helpful to share what I know or my experience to hopefully give others some awareness.
