Is it weird for moms to buy sex toys for their daughters?

So basically in my house we are super open when it comes to masturbation, and my mom bought me my first sex toys when I started out. My friends say this is super weird but I'm not sure if its just because masturbation is destigmatized in our house or if it's just weird in general lol.
