Next week travel, Rain???

excited to visit st Pete for the first time next week. I assume it rains hard everyday. u bring a back pack with new clothing? how do you deal with it? bring flip flops everywhere , umbrella?

what time should I do outdoor activities? I heard it gets super hot and rainy in the summer
