Day 1 - A Litany of boredom
I could tell you about my childhood (it was difficult, as are many’s difficult).
I could tell you about my relationship (it ended in heartbreak, as many’s end).
I could tell you about my children (they are both a distress and a reason to live, as many’s are).
I would rather tell you about trees. How the grey changes the colors of green. How the wind dances with each leaf in a different cumbia. The wind that blows cold. I feel lightning coming on my skin and in the pulse of my blood.
I want to listen to the game (go Spurs go!) and join the collective in holding onto something bigger than all of us, and representing all of us - uniting us. It’s just a ball, just a game - it’s a microcosm of life. Something for us to cling to with love, together.
My life is a boring series of steps. There is no excitement greater than watching a leaf glide through the air and land in water. Or that sweet swish of 2 points. Score!
