4 year old test results…

weeks ago my 4 year old daughter started smelling like maple syrup/ burnt sugar in the mornings and sometimes afternoons in her urine and sweat. It’s been on and off almost everyday since. She snacks but barely touches actual meals. Has lost about 2 lbs during this time. The last week her breath has started smelling rancid. Doesn’t matter how often I brush her teeth or use toothpaste. She had her 4 year check up on the 19th of May and they ordered a CBC, CMP, hemoglobin a1c, amino acid plasma and all came back pretty much normal (elevated platelets and neutrophils). The abnormal findings came from her organic urine blood test… results below. Her pediatrician wants me to take her to a geneticist.

- 3OH-BUTYRIC ACID of 17 (ref range 0-15)
- ACETOACETIC ACID of 21 (ref range 0-1)
- 4OH-PHENYLACETIC ACID of 36 (ref range 0-30)
- HOMOVANILLIC ACID of 12 (HVA) (ref range 0-9)
