I became a software engineer at 18, I am 23 now and make 6 figures AMA
Student debt terrified me and caused me to jump straight into the industry. To get my start I basically told small businesses in my area I'd be a software engineer for minimum wage and would build an app full time. One took a chance on me because they needed an in house app built. ~5 years later I'm in a company that has ~20k employees and I make 6 figures.
Life does get lonely as I can't quite relate to everything with people I work with as I'm definitely on the younger side and I don't relate well to those my age because they are all still in college or just getting out now.
If you are in a similar position and college debt is terrifying for you I may be able to answer some questions. I have gotten decent at resume building and even interviewing. I have been on both sides at this point, figure it must be jarring when people probably 1.5X my age get me as an interviewer for a mid-senior position.
