3D printing filament suggestions for medium/small sized figures + mask heads?

Ok here’s the deal. I’m not planning on getting a 3D printer anytime soon until I’ve worked out everything I don’t know about 3D printing yet. I’m very interested though. Also Im unsure if I need different filaments for the two since they serve different functions…

I’m overall looking for something durable and heat resistant (just to take it outside, particularly for the canine masks), and something that can hopefully take fine details without warping so much. I plan to sand and paint the prints myself afterwards.

I didn’t really know where to post this question and I wanted to hopefully reach somewhere that knew, so I’m starting here until I find some subreddits to crosspost to. Any extra information about 3D printing in general would also be very helpful. This is a big consideration against other methods for me only because I feel good about my sculpting skills digitally.
