Did any also though that kratos was Playstation's mascot?

I never had a Playstation In my entire life but when I was kid and even to the early teens I thougth kratos was Playstation's mascot after crash bandicoot. I never heard of rachet and clank until the movie and forgot about them until the ps5 game, never heard of Jack and Dexter until adolescence and when I remember a video from velberan ( famous brazilian youtuber) the thumb was mario to sonic to crash to kratos, so even the people who lived talking about video games talked about kratos if he was the mascot. I don't know if my perception was twisted because of how popular god of war is here brazil compared to every other thing Playstation and in fact it was the only I knew from a really young that was Playstation exclusive and I could never play on the xbox360.

And now question: is god of war that popular in your country to the point of distorting your perception of the Playstation brand?
