how much longer will the iPhone 14 Pro be supported by Apple, for both software and security updates?

I currently own an iPhone 14 base model, however the OLED panel has been liquid damaged. if I want to purchase a replacement OLED panel it’ll cost basically the same as getting another used iPhone 14. hence I am deciding to get a newer model.

the most intensive task I do is play League of Legends: Wild Rift on maximum graphics, and so far my iPhone 14 is decent-ish at handling the task. outside that, I use my phone for texting, emails, music, social media, etc etc.

the main reason I don’t want to get a 15/16 series is because of the titanium frame, and the fact that both series have overheating issues, be it by default on the 15 or when recording 4K video on the 16. the 17 is the current flagship, so it’s still pricey even on the used market.

within the 14 series, I do appreciate ProMotion and Dynamic Island on the 14 Pro, and I prefer the smaller 6.1” size. hence I’m thinking of trading in my 14 base model for cash and getting a used 14 Pro.

however, I am a bit concerned of the longevity on the 14 series. the 13 series has shown to struggle to run iOS 26 smoothly, and I’m worried iOS 27 might be a iPhone 14 killer. I am heading to university soon, and my plan is to get a used iPhone 20 (XX?) when I graduate in 2031/2032. so I am hoping for my phone to last till then.
